My friend Dominic Sheahan-Stahl can’t speak at his brother’s graduation because he’s gay. Sacred Heart Academy in Mount Pleasant, MI asked Dominic to be the keynote speaker, but retracted the offer after discovering he’s in love with, and engaged to a man.
I’m so proud of Dominic for spreading awareness and remaining gracious and kind in the face of discrimination. Please take a moment to hear his story, and show your support by sharing this video and signing this petition to Let Dominic Speak.
“A poem begins with a lump in the throat, a home-sickness or a love-sickness. It is a reaching-out toward expression; an effort to find fulfillment. A complete poem is one where the emotion has found its thought and the thought has found the words.”
